There is going to be an EDHS Alumni Party on August 7, 2010. Everyone from classes of 1969 thru 1979 is invited! Please pass this info along to your alumni friends. The planning committee for this party includes Bob Barna 71, Maggi Mahoney 71, Jerry Enright 71, Randy Sidebotham 71, Nancy Barlow 71, Mike McAteer 71 and myself Judy Petalas 69.

Below is all of the pertinent information:

When: August 7, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.

What: Alumni Party with live band

Where: Bob Barna's House

Location: 2319 Songbird Lane, Rowland Heights, CA 91748

Cost: $25.00 per person (includes food, beer, wine, soft drinks, water)

Please mail your cover charges as soon as possible. Checks should be made payable to Margaret E. Ventimiglia. Mail your checks to Bob Barna at 2319 Songbird Ln, Rowland Heights, CA 91748.

Bob has a very large home. There is adequate space for up to 300 guests so please send your checks as soon as possible as we would like to get an estimated head count.

If you are coming from out of town, there are hotels nearby. More information on the local hotels will be forthcoming soon.

Bob has a swimming pool so if you think you're going to want to go swimming, be sure to bring proper swimming attire and towels.

This event is for Adults ONLY!

If enough people are attending, there will be off-site parking and a shuttle provided...details to follow.

If we get the turnout we are anticipating, this party should be a lot of fun so please join us!!

UPDATE: There is going to be a limit of 300 guests at the Alumni Party. The $25 per person must be paid in advance by June 30th at the latest so please mail in your checks as soon as possible. Once we get to 300 guests, that's it. We will not be able to accept walk-ins without pre-paying. When you mail your checks, be sure to put your name, maiden name, grad year and the names of any guests you are including in your payment.

Our EDHS alumni party is just one month away! I am including a list at the bottom of the page of all who have paid so far. Many of you have said you will be attending but haven't sent your checks yet. If you are planning on being there, please mail your checks asap!!!

With your check, put your name (including maiden name for females), your grad year and the names of any guests included in your check. That way, we can have nametags ready for you when you get to the party.

Remember, the party is on Saturday, August 7th from 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. at the home of Bob Barna.

Mail your checks in the amount of $25 per person in c/o Bob Barna, 2319 Songbird Ln, Rowland Heights, CA 91748.

Regarding hotel reservations...the Best Western Executive Inn at 18880 Gale Ave, Rowland Heights, CA, has said they may be able to discount room rates if at least 10 or 15 people stay there. Please call the hotel for details. Their telephone number is 626-810-1818. Even without a discount, their rates are reasonable.

We had an alumni party meeting at Bob's house yesterday.  In the past week, we have received 8 more checks (listed below).  The party is less than 4 weeks away, so if you haven't sent your check yet, please do so today! 

Pre-sale ticket prices are $25 per ticket; however, the price will be $50 per person at the door so mail your checks at the $25 discounted price now!!

If you decide to book a room at the Best Western (info in above post), be sure to tell them you are part of the El Dorado Reunion so you can get the best rates.

I leave in a bit to catch a plane to Los Angeles, and will be staying at my daughters place in Long Beach.  I return on the 10th. 

I'm really looking forward to the reunion on Saturday.  For me, this is a big event and worth the effort to travel nearly nearly four-thousand miles both ways to make it.  For those who live in Southern California and take these reunions for granted, I want to remind you - I'm traveling all this distance just to see YOU!

So nice of you to come all this way to see us!  Seriously, that's quite a distance to travel just for a 5-hour party.  I'm pretty sure it'll be worth it though.  We have 91 checks so far with more coming at the door.
