I know there are a few of you Hawks, that would be pleased to know that my son, Adam will be finishing his Basic Training on Feb 19th at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina.  I am so excited that Roger and I will be able to travel back there for the ceremonies!  His plans are to be an Abrams Tank Systems Specialist.  Not exactly sure where his AIT will be...possibly Ft. Knox, or Ft. Benning.  We'll know more in a couple of weeks!  This is a whole new world for me...and one I am learning about every day!  Just wanted to brag on him for making the grade!!!

Congrats to you and Roger, and most importantly your son. That's a big accomplishment. I'm not Army but pretty sure any kind of armor training is at Ft Knox.....Al

Of course he made the grade Diana, he was raised by you and your husband! You have every reason to be proud of your son, and that will no doubt continue far into the future.  Brag on!

Thanks All,
but I take no credit for his success...he was a son that just couldn't find his way for a long while!  But, I think he may have found a niche in the Army!  Cautious optimism is my mantra but I am truely proud that he will be serving our country and growing strong as a young man!

You were right Al, he did go to Ft Knox for his AIT training and will be graduating early June.  (He is there as I type).
He has done just fine, and recently got his orders to go to Korea!
He is excited, and I am pleased it is what he wants....
Whew!

By the way, the graduation ceremonies were awesome, and it really opened my eyes getting to experience an Army base.  Ft. Jackson is one of the largest training bases and it is really something!!!
