Yup - that about sums up the class of '85.  Very nonchalant!

Rick,

One of your classmates lives next door ;)   Can't state -- as that's my neighbor  ;) :D  On this block we're protective of our alumni  ;)

Lawanda,

We're not all that old.  Besides my lastest cool moment was when  a 26 year old tried to pick me out last week.   ;) ;D :)  Yeah, he was drunk but at 48 years old I was just tickled and couldn't stop laughing.  He wanted me to go into the restrooms and he'd follow!  I was laughing so hard I pulled my glasses down to find him some Chick and he said "you're OOOOOLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDD.  Stupid kid!  ;)

Rich,

We currently have 2 other class of '85 members but they apparently haven't gotten around to posting yet.  Our membership is growing daily, so I'm sure there will be more soon.

LMAO Jolynn!  First Alli went back in time by 10 years, then she snapped back to where she belongs.  Gee, wonder how that happened?   ;)

It would be a plus if I know what I know now also!

Hey Rich...you should have gone to the El Dorado Baseball Alumni Softball Tournament a couple of weeks ago. There were a bunch of 85'ers there. Scott Fairfield recruited a bunch of your classmates at your 20th reunion last year, and they won the tournament! They took second place this year. I tried to emulate that at our 20th this year, but it seems that the 86'ers are even more tepid than your class!

I didn't even know back then that one had been organized (and I was in town long enough that I could have played - would have been fun).

I'm headed home again in about 2 weeks for Thanksgiving.  I usually get together with some of the guys I played Soccer with way back then.  It's always a great time, and I enjoy seeing them now more than ever.

Best wishes to you!

Yes - those are 2 of the guys I played ball with (we all got together before the reunion last year over at El Torito for a great deal of Nostalgia and fun).

Title: Re: All alone from '85

Do you have Todd and Jeff's emails and phone numbers?

Title: Re: All alone from '85
Post by: Rich Yarger 85 on November 06, 2006, 07:08:38 AM
I have their email addresses, but not their phone numbers.  Our main guy who organizes stuff when we get together (Jim Eyre) is the one who coordinates everyone - so I kind of rely on him a great deal when it comes to get togethers.

Title: Re: All alone from '85
Post by: Doug Sipple 86 on November 06, 2006, 07:48:18 AM
Jim should have their info, so I'll defer to him. How about Darrin Matthews?

Title: Re: All alone from '85
Post by: Rich Yarger 85 on November 06, 2006, 07:58:37 AM
Now there's a name I have not heard in years (along with Troy and Steve Gray).

Title: Re: All alone from '85
Post by: Doug Sipple 86 on November 06, 2006, 03:06:36 PM
I remember Darrin Matthews from little league baseball...we were teammates one year. Also, it was a shame that Troy Dean didn't come to the reunion, I was hoping to see him there. I don't really remember Steve Gray though (too many blows to the head all these years!)

Besides the normal boy stuff growing up, I would have to consider youth, high school and college football to be the main excuses for my forgetfulness (I think I also lost a lot of brain cells in college if I think hard about it...oh that hurt!). Not to leave out that I've had my head cracked open three times (those are some good stories!) For all that know me...this should explain my goofiness!

Jolynn is aces in my book. She is quite a handful isn't she?!? I don't know if you remember her from high school, but she hasn't changed...she's still fiery and always looking to make everyone laugh. BTW, I think you have mistaken that old "high hair of the 80's" for horns!

Don't anyone fall over, but someone from '84 is writing!  I saw this thread and saw Doug Sipple's name...hey, Doug!  Remember me?  I sure remember you...all those great times after football games with you, Kelly, Lisa Y., Mindy, and everyone.

I am still great friends with Mindy, Deanne E., and Kari W.  We email almost daily.  They are all in CA, but I live out in a suburb of Atlanta.  Crazy.

Hope you're well.  Do you have kids?  I'm married and blessed with a little boy and a little girl.

Take care!  Anyone lurking around here from 1984, please write as well...we're a bunch of laggers on this board!

Welcome to the board. Hopefully more of your friends will show up.

I know exactly where you live. My sister lives in Towne Lake. It's a nice area. Especially if you like Kudzu.

Wendy...welcome girl!!!

Shoot me an email so we can catch up on old friends (I'm sure others won't care to read it!!) I hope you are well and I look forward to talking with you!

Wow Bill, what a coincidence!  I love it here in Towne Lake.  Don't like GA on a whole (the humid summers are HORRIBLE--feel landlocked and miss the ocean), but it is nice to have four seasons and this is a wonderful place to raise kids.

Does your sister like it here?

Doug, it has been GREAT catching up with you!  Now I need to get Mindy, Kari and Deanne to get on these boards...

Wendy,

My sister would love to hear from you. I'll PM you with her phone number.

We moved to Yorba Linda after I graduated so she went to Troy. I don't hold that against her.

You benevolence to your sister is overwhelming!  Troy was a good school back in the day, right?  High school seems to be a whole new world now.  I can't relate.

Bill...watch what you say about Troy...my dad was a teacher, football/track coach and atheletic director at Troy for 35 years!!!

Actually, you wouldn't recognize Troy today in the classroom...back when we were in EDHS, Troy was known (and deservedly so) as a druggie school. The academics were lacking. Now Troy is a magnet school that has people petitioning and lining up to have their kids go there. They have a program called "Troy Tech" that has parents all around OC wanting their kids to attend.

Funny how things work, huh?
